PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project is a $110 Million design-build that includes the design and construction of Express Lanes by converting the existing High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Lane into 2 Express Lanes along Interstate 95 from a point north of the SR 826 Golden Glades Interchange to a point south of the Broward Boulevard Park & Ride in both Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. Other aspects of the project include analyzing and designing all roadway and structural elements in addition to, but not limited to drainage, stormwater management, traffic control, permitting, utility coordination, lighting, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) infrastructure, tolling infrastructure, survey, geotechnical investigations, signing, pavement markings and FHWA re-evaluations. Design-Build firm is to design to avoid utilities and to pay for design and relocation if required in addition to impacts to the design-build schedule.

    PROJECT DESCRIPTION

    This project consisted of the design and installation of a wireless mobile VoIP subsystem, a Road Weather Information System and Highway Advisory Radio Subsystem within the I-95 corridor in Broward County, as well as the installation of arterial Dynamic Message Sign subsystem at select arterial intersections and the integration of all subsystems into the existing ITS system in Broward County.

    I-75 FREEWAY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (FMS)

    PROJECT DESCRIPTION

    This project included the design and integration of a 96 SM fiber optic communications system along 23.6 miles of I-75 from the Lee County Line to the Sarasota County Line, to allow for the remote command and control of the following proposed equipment: 10 DMS, 30 CCTV, 46 MVDS, 5 HAR Transmitters, 10 HAR Beacons, 1 RWIS. The fiber optic backbone was spliced into the existing backbone at the Lee County line. Metric also performed the utility coordination, survey cross sections, and all other project coordination.

    PROJECT DESCRIPTION

    This project replaced the existing Toll Collection System for the Florida Turnpike Enterprise. The replacement system consist of IDRIS loops, transponders, Open Road Tolling, Automatic Cash Machines, Manual Cash Lanes, Violation Enforcement and Security components.

    PROJECT DESCRIPTION

    Prime consultant responsible for providing professional engineering consulting services to assist in the conceptual planning of the County's Traffic Signalization and Signal Engineering Improvement (SEI), implementation of a data management and tracking system for installed fiber optic cables, assistance in improving the signal timing strategy and its integration with the County's traffic communication network, design criteria and consistency review services resulting from the conceptual planning, and construction management services.
