Welcome Nelson Perez, PE! VP and Regional Manager for South Florida CEI

Metric is excited to announce that Nelson Perez, PE, has joined our executive leadership team as Vice President and CEI Regional Manager for South Florida!

Nelson will be responsible for the oversight and management of Metric’s CEI Operations in the South Florida area, including client relations and business development. His career spans years of experience in construction engineering and inspection (CEI) and management of major transportation projects including rapid transit, urban and rural roadway improvements, complex bridge projects and movable bridges. He has over 44 years of experience as a Construction Resident/Senior Project Engineer having led CEI efforts for 16 different projects in FDOT District 4, FDOT District 6, Florida’s Turnpike, and the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority.

Nelson has overseen more than $1 Billion of construction work. Two of his recent projects, the MDX SR-836 Extension, and the NW 25th Street Viaduct East Phase, for FDOT District 6 won several noteworthy awards including the FTBA Best in Construction Award for the NW 25th St Viaduct Project. In addition to his construction experience, he has managed complex maintenance of traffic projects and has held positions in quality assurance/quality control, traffic engineering, concrete pavement design, and transportation planning. Nelson is also a member of the American Society Of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Nelson was born in Havana, Cuba but left Cuba with his family at 8 years old and grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He resides in Miami with his wife Shirley, his daughter Isabella and his son Peter. His oldest daughter, Nicole, is an accomplished Physician Assistant living in Cleveland.
