We Do the Planning for Planning Departments
We are one of the leading providers Roadway Characteristics Inventory (RCI) services in the state of Florida with a focus in the North Florida region – to date, our staff has completed over 10,000 miles on- and off-system roadways in 34 counties in FDOT Districts 2 and 3 – even established RCI Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) procedures for District 3.
Metric has served FDOT Planning Statistics Departments for 15 years including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) services in support of Planning decision making. We removed over 800 sections from the Department’s GIS LRS Discrepancy Report and added 258 (over 1,800 miles) new roadways to the Department’s GIS LRS and the RCI database. We use AGOL Viewers for RCI data to assist Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Milepoint, and QA/QC needs as well as Survey123 applications for RCI data collection.
Ultimately, we support all departments within FDOT including Planning, Planning and Environmental Office (PLEMO), Work Program, Traffic Operations, Maintenance offices and more. Furthermore, we support local agencies to ensure growth management, state and mandated programs are consistent with long-range planning; this is done through local agency coordination to ensure we understand how departmental/legislative changes can impact various upcoming priority projects and their placement in the work program. This coordination is driven all the way to the community through meaningful engagement of stakeholders to arrive at context-sensitive and community supported solutions. Metric has comprehensive experience in every facet of the planning process, but more importantly, we have the ability to assist any client in a proactive approach to address all transportation challenges.
