This DB project encompasses widening over 4.3 miles along I-75 from 6 to 8 lanes, providing auxiliary lanes and inside full depth shoulders between SR 64 and US 301 and converting the existing I-75 interchange at US 301 from a Partial Clover Leaf to an “Enhanced (Tight) Diamond” consistent with the approved Interchange Access Request and PD&E. The project includes reconstructing all ramps and building 2 new parallel bridges over the Manatee River for the new NB I-75 exit ramp and new SB entrance ramp. These new ramp bridges are to include full-width stub-outs to accommodate 3 general-use lanes of the future ultimate I-75 10-lane section. US 301 will be reconstructed and widened from east of 51st Avenue to west of 60th Avenue in order to provide 3 EB travel lanes and 4 WB travel lanes, turn lanes to all new access ramps and side streets, as well as, sidewalks on both sides of the roadway.
