The purpose of this Type 2 CE PD&E Study was to increase the capacity along CR 510 from CR 512 to 58th Avenue by widening from two- to four-lanes and implementing a raised median. The project implemented bicycle lanes and sidewalks as well as safety and geometric improvements, including a roundabout conversion. The team successfully managed multiple issue including impacts to a Section 4(f) FDEP Florida Forever Preserve, as well as endangered species including EFH and indirect scrub jay impacts. Additionally, the team successfully turned a potential environmental justice issue into an overwhelming community support. After a successful Biological Opinion and mitigation plan with the USFWS, the Study obtained LDCA and is currently in final design
