I-75 Interchange at NW 49 Street

On-going Type 2 CE PD&E Study for a new I-75 interchange at NW 49th Street in Ocala, FL. The proposed interchange is needed to support the economic viability of the Ocala 489 Commerce Park, a Class A industrial distribution center, and contiguous Enterprise Zone, as well as the County’s vision for a future east-west corridor parallel to US 27. Several interchange concepts were evaluated including a diamond, single point urban, and partial cloverleaf. The preferred alternative involves a diverging diamond and extension of NW 49th Street to the future NW 35th Street extension County project. The Study involved preparation of an Interchange Justification Report (IJR) an extensive stakeholder coordination.
