This Design-Build Project involved expansion of I-75 from 4 to 6 lanes along a 30-mile segment from Golden Gate Parkway in Collier County to Colonial Boulevard (CR 884) in Lee County. Significant components of the work included: widening of 22 existing bridges and 2 new bridges; 1-million tons of lime rock base; one new inside mainline lane and 10-ft paved shoulder; over 30 miles of guardrail/cable barrier system; 1.75-million square yards of asphalt milling; 400,000 tons of Superpave Asphalt Pavement; 2-million CY of earthwork; over 13 miles of drainage pipe culvert & 23 retention/detention ponds; signalization; over 240 miles of pavement markings, as well as, noise wall and other related activities. This project received the 2010 FTBA Best in Construction Award.
