Design, widening and reconstruction of SR 821, the Homestead Extension of the Florida Turnpike (HEFT), which accommodates the future needs for capacity, operational and safety improvements, from north of SW 184th Street (Eureka Drive) to south of SW 104th Street / SR 990 (Killian Parkway), including a new extension of SR 874 (MDX) through the interchange with SR 821 (HEFT). Overall improvements include adding mainline lanes to the HEFT, adding ramp lanes, improving surface street operations and capacity and improving mainline operations. This project involved utilizing BlueTooth for the travel time information used to support the design of Express Lanes locations. Metric’s role: ITS
